Olivia Wilde stepped out for the Los Angeles premiere of I Want Your Sex on July 29, 2026, wearing a revealing outfit that showed a glimpse of her toned stomach. The Hollywood actress and director plays artist Erika Tracy in Gregg Araki's erotic thriller, which opens in the US on July 31.

Plot and Role

The film follows Elliot, played by Cooper Hoffman, who becomes Erika's new assistant and sexual muse. Wilde described playing the dominatrix role as "liberating." In an interview with Variety, she said: "I was just so excited by the fearlessness of it. It was incredible, so liberating, so fun."

Wilde credited Madonna's stylist Arianne Phillips for the film's costumes. "I am very grateful she came on to this movie because she created Erika. I mean, those outfits were unbelievable," Wilde told Variety. She added: "I mean, it was the least amount of clothing I’ve worn on a set, but the most powerful [I’ve felt]."

Gen Z Study on Sex in Media

The premiere follows a study indicating that nearly 48% of Gen Z believe sex is not necessary for plot in most TV shows and films. Co-author Yalda T. Uhls told IndieWire: "While it’s true that adolescents want less sex on TV and in movies, what the survey is really saying is that they want more and different kinds of relationships reflected in the media they watch."

Uhls continued: "We know that young people are suffering an epidemic of loneliness and they’re seeking modeling in the art they consume. While some storytellers use sex and romance as a shortcut to character connection, it’s important for Hollywood to recognize that adolescents want stories that reflect the full spectrum of relationships."

Upcoming Projects

Wilde is set to direct a holiday comedy titled Naughty for Universal and LuckyChap Entertainment. She is also working on an adaptation of the comic Avengelyne, which could star Margot Robbie.

Personal Life

Wilde famously dated Harry Styles after they met on the set of her film Don't Worry Darling, where Styles starred and she directed. The couple split in November 2022 after nearly two years together.
