National Lottery players in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, are being urged to check their tickets after a £12 million jackpot winner has yet to come forward. The winning Lotto ticket was purchased in the area before the draw on June 6, matching all six main numbers: 08, 10, 26, 30, 35, and 42.
Deadline to Claim the Prize
Whoever holds the winning ticket has until December 3 to claim the life-changing sum. Under National Lottery rules, players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. If the deadline passes, the money is not kept by the National Lottery but is used to fund National Lottery-supported projects across the UK.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners' Advisor at Allwyn, the National Lottery operator, stated: "Think back to if this could be you, as we want nothing more than to unite the winner with their prize money. Imagine this sum of money in your bank account and how it could change not only your life but that of your friends, family and charities or good causes close to your heart. This is a massive win and we can't wait to unite the lucky ticket-holder with their Lotto Jackpot prize."
Recent Lotto Changes
The search for the missing millionaire comes amid significant changes to the Lotto format. Earlier this month, Allwyn launched what it described as the biggest-ever National Lottery draw shake-up. Under the new format, two separate sets of six main balls and a bonus ball are drawn using two different machines during each draw. Players still pay £2 per line, but each line now gives them two chances to win. Allwyn says the changes have improved the odds of winning any prize from one in 9.3 to one in 4.9. The operator also expects the number of Lotto millionaires created each year to rise from around 140 to about 345.
How to Claim
Players who believe they may hold the winning ticket are advised to contact the National Lottery as soon as possible. The ticket was purchased in Rhondda Cynon Taf, and officials are urging everyone in the area to double-check their tickets. If the prize remains unclaimed by December 3, the funds will be allocated to charitable projects across the UK.
