Marks & Spencer has introduced a new product it claims is the UK's first dessert sandwich, the Chocolate, Strawberry & Pistachio Creme Sandwich, and simultaneously brought back a customer favourite, the Red Diamond Strawberry & Creme Sandwich. Shoppers have already expressed strong enthusiasm, with one declaring: "I won't rest until I find it."
New and Returning Sandwiches
The new limited-edition treat combines British strawberries with pistachio creme and Fairtrade Belgian chocolate sauce, sandwiched between cocoa-enriched sweetened bread. It is priced at £3.50. The returning classic, the Red Diamond Strawberry & Creme Sandwich, features what M&S calls the UK's sweetest strawberries matched with whipped cream cheese inside soft sweetened bread, costing £2.80.
Last summer, the original strawberry sandwich became a social media sensation, with over 75,000 sold in just five days. M&S hopes to replicate that success with the new offering.

Food social media account NewfoodsUK posted a picture of the new sandwich online, prompting one shopper to comment: "I won't rest until I find it." Another delighted customer who had already purchased one said: "I've just had one and it was delicious x."
Broader Strawberry and Pistachio Collection
The sandwich launch is part of a larger strawberry and pistachio-themed collection arriving in stores this summer. Alongside the sandwiches, M&S has introduced two new dessert dips for its picky bits range: the Strawberry and Cream Fruity Dip (£3.25), blending strawberry compote with whipped cream, full-fat soft cheese and Greek-style yoghurt; and the Chocolate and Pistachio Velvety Dip (£3.75), featuring chocolate ganache combined with pistachio creme and topped with crunchy pistachio pieces.
