Mello: New York-Inspired Gelato and French Toast Cafe Opens

Mello, a new New York-inspired gelato and French toast café, opens this Saturday on Fog Lane in Didsbury, bringing a taste of the Big Apple to south Manchester. The bright spot is set to serve proper Italian gelato, coffee, overloaded French toasts, and pastries, aiming to bring sunshine to grey Manchester days.

From Caramello to Mello

The venue is the latest venture from Sham Sadique, founder of the popular Didsbury brunch spot Caramello, which opened on Whitechapel Street ten years ago. Caramello is known for its patisseries, waffles, and gelato and was hailed as Manchester's first halal brunch spot. Sadique said: "Mello has been a dream of mine since I started Caramello. I always wanted to merge my love for New York and Italy as a coffee and dessert brand, and we've finally made it happen. I can't wait for you all to try the new French Toast too."

Launch Day Freebies

To celebrate the opening on Saturday, June 27, from 12pm to 4pm, Mello will offer a prize wheel where guests can spin for free pots of gelato, French toast, drinks, tote bags, t-shirts, and more. No purchase is necessary to participate.

Didsbury's Dining Scene

The arrival of Mello coincides with Didsbury's thriving food and drink scene. This month, Irish bar Kennedy's was named one of the best town pubs in the country, and Albert's in Didsbury was recognized as a top spot for outdoor dining.

Mello is located at 153 Fog Lane, Manchester, M20 6FJ. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm, and Sunday 9am to 5pm.
