The National Lottery Lotto draw on Saturday, May 9 offers a jackpot of £3.9 million. The winning numbers will be revealed at 8pm, followed by the Thunderball draw at 8.15pm with a top prize of £500,000.
Since its launch on November 19, 1994, the UK National Lottery has allocated around half of all ticket sales to prizes, with 28% supporting good causes. The remainder goes to government duty (12%), retailers (5%), and the operator (5%).
The largest Lotto prize to date was £35 million, won by a single anonymous ticket-holder in April 2016. More recently, a syndicate of retired Port Talbot Tata Steel workers won £1 million in the EuroMillions draw on February 27.
Results will be posted live as the numbers are drawn. Players are reminded to check their tickets after the draws.
