Emmerdale villain Dr. Caitlin Todd has made an unexpected return to the village, leaving Charity Dingle terrified. Fans are convinced that a much-loved villager will murder her after spotting a 'huge hint'.
Heartbroken Charity (Emma Atkins) has been trying to rebuild her life after being sexually assaulted by Dr Todd (Caroline Harker). The surgeon also blackmailed the landlady over baby Leyla Sugden, as Charity and Ross Barton (Mike Parr) are her real parents.
Charity's recovery setback
There was more heartache for Charity on Wednesday (August 6) when her son, Noah Dingle (Jack Downham), left for a new job in Germany. Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) have been supporting Charity, and she seemed to be showing signs of recovery.
Yet, there was an unpleasant shock on Thursday (August 6) when Dr. Todd arrived at Sheffield Hospital to begin work and encountered Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), with the pair arranging to meet later for drinks.
Sinister observation
Meanwhile, Charity attended a support group to address her trauma before heading home to discuss her ordeal with her husband, Mack. The pair share an embrace, with Charity revealing she feels a "tiny bit of weight" has lifted from her shoulders, at which moment Todd is spotted observing her from afar.
Subsequently, Manpreet is seen stumbling away from Todd's vehicle when they cross paths with Vanessa, who had previously dated Todd. The vet swiftly branded Todd a rapist and a bully, declaring "this isn't over".
Murder flashforward
Shortly afterward, Todd enters Charity's home uninvited, leaving her utterly shocked. Could a confrontation between the pair result in Todd's demise?
In a recent flashforward sequence, viewers were shown a glimpse of Todd lying motionless on the floor with blood streaming from her lifeless body, suggesting she had been murdered. The scene occurred mere moments after Mack issued a warning to Todd that he would kill her if she ever approached Charity again.
Fans suspect Mack
Emmerdale fans have been speculating about who will kill Todd, with some suggesting Mack is set to deliver the fatal blow as the actor is joining the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Taking to X, one person asked: "So with Lawrence announced for Strictly, do we think Mack's getting the blame for Todd? #Emmerdale." A second replied: "Yeah, that is possible and would make sense. I guess he doesn't need to leave temporarily. Soap stars have continued to work and do Strictly, but they may have a smaller role during that period."
A third chimed in: "#Emmerdale does this mean he's going to go down for Todd's murder?" as another confessed: "I'm wondering the same thing?" "Off to prison for Killing Todd #Emmerdale," simply exclaimed another.
Mack's Strictly announcement
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Lawrence confirmed he will continue filming Emmerdale scenes while participating in the BBC competition, which is scheduled to begin next month. He said: "Just a little video message to let you guys know that for the next couple of months, alongside strutting my stuff on the Emmerdale fields, I'm going to be strutting my stuff on the dance floor wearing sequins and wearing tap shoes because as luck would have it, I am doing Strictly Come Dancing."
Lawrence added: "Help, please. Very much looking forward to it, it's very exciting, but I am terrified. So be kind, and I will see you on the dance floor."
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV and ITVX.
