Reese Witherspoon's Involvement

The series has the backing of Hollywood star Reese Witherspoon, who selected Stapley's 2021 novel for her Reese's Book Club and serves as an executive producer through her production company Hello Sunshine. Taylor-Joy revealed on This Morning that Witherspoon envisioned no one but her for the role. Taylor-Joy said: 'It was so exciting. I got a call saying Reese wanted to send me a book and that she wanted to co-produce with me which is obviously the most incredible sentence to hear through a telephone.'

Early Praise from Readers

Even before its release, Lucky has garnered a devoted following, with book enthusiasts praising the novel. One Good Reads user called it 'a stunning read,' while another described it as 'a real page turner.' A third reviewer noted: 'This fast-paced, plot-driven tale is full of unexpected plot twists that'll keep you guessing about Lucky and the lottery ticket until the very last page.' Another fan added: 'Finished in less than a day because I just couldn't put it down!'

Lucky premieres on Wednesday, July 15, on Apple TV+.
