Alex Jones has been a fixture on The One Show since 2010, making her the programme's longest-running presenter as it prepares to celebrate 20 years on air.
Over the years, viewers have watched a range of hosts join Jones on the green sofa, including Roman Kemp, Vernon Kay and Clara Amfo. This month, the BBC show is marking its 20th anniversary with surprise moments, celebrity guests and memorable reunions.
'I'm most proud of the fact that I'm still here'
Ahead of the milestone, the BBC spoke to the show's stars about their favourite memories. Reflecting on her time, Jones said: "I'm most proud of the fact that I'm still here because to have a job that you not only love but you're really proud to do is rare over the stretch of time that I've been here."
She added: "It makes me a bit emotional because I'm so proud of the show. It has withstood so many changes in trends, changes in the way people watch TV or whatever, it still stands and stays relevant." She also said the programme would be "really missed" if it was pulled from its weeknight 7pm slot.
A 'huge privilege' for Roman Kemp
Roman Kemp, who also features in the anniversary celebrations, said: "It's a huge privilege. I am very proud, but I think privilege is the real feeling. It's such a responsibility to show people how nice this country is."
He added: "I feel like the show is a representation of the best people and things that we don't know about. I have learnt so much about where I live and where I am from through this show."
Anniversary week and One Big Night to Remember
During the week of celebrations, Alex Jones and Roman Kemp will front the show from the studio, with familiar faces broadcasting live across the nation to revisit memorable stories and discover what happened next.
The BBC teased: "Across entertainment, real-life stories, cultural milestones and extraordinary achievements, the week will shine a spotlight on the people and moments that have defined The One Show."
"The celebrations will feature special live moments from around the UK and beyond, starting at the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, Ireland's biggest celebration of traditional music and culture, to the rare sight of a partial solar eclipse sweeping across the country."
The celebrations will culminate on Friday 14th August with an extended One Big Night to Remember anniversary special, bringing together some of the biggest names, most memorable stories and greatest moments from 20 years of The One Show.
The One Show is available on BBC One weekdays from 7pm.
