The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued an urgent recall for several children's pyjama sets due to a serious fire risk. The affected products fail to meet the flammability requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, posing a potential hazard to children.
The recall covers pyjama sets sold by various retailers between January and March this year. The OPSS advises consumers to stop using the items immediately and return them to the point of purchase for a full refund.
A spokesperson for the OPSS said: 'These pyjamas do not meet the necessary safety standards and could catch fire more easily than expected. We urge parents and carers to check if they have any of the affected products and to stop using them right away.'
The affected items include specific styles and sizes, with batch numbers listed on the OPSS website. Retailers have been instructed to remove the products from sale and display recall notices in stores.
