Tesco and Asda have issued urgent warnings for supermarket customers as two products have been recalled due to safety risks. Shoppers who have bought the items are being urged not to use them but to return them to the stores in exchange for a refund. The warnings have also been shared by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS).
Tesco recalls F&F Glass Latte Mug
Tesco's alert relates to the F&F Glass Latte Mug, which presents a risk of burns and injuries as it may shatter during use. The recall covers mugs bought between September 2025 and August 2026.
The supermarket said: "As a precautionary measure, Tesco is recalling all batches of its F&F Home Glass Latte Mug purchased between September 2025 to August 2026 inclusive. This is due to a manufacturing issue that may cause the glass mug to break during normal use, posing a risk of injury. If you have purchased the product affected, please do not use it and instead return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. No receipt is required."
The OPSS added: "The product presents a risk of burns and injuries as it may shatter during use. If the glass mug breaks while containing a hot beverage, consumers could be burned by the hot liquid or injured by sharp glass fragments. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005."
Asda recalls Kidz Pop Up Bear Tent
Another alert has been sent out for the ASDA Kidz Pop Up Bear Tent, which has a risk of entrapment. The OPSS states: "The product presents a risk of entrapment because the zip closure may allow a user to become trapped during use. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. The products have been recalled from end users by ASDA. We recommend that consumers stop using the products immediately and keep out of reach of children. Return the products to any ASDA store for a full refund."
Asda said in its warning notice: "The product is found to be non-compliant with relevant toy safety regulations and can pose a risk of entrapment due to the zip closure. If you have purchased the Kidz Pop Up Tent – Bear (Barcode: 5063717171192, Product Code: 506371717119.2026), please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused. If you would like any further information please contact: Asda Customer Relations – 0330 053 0111."
