Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury's have issued urgent recall notices for 10 products in recent months, with reasons ranging from labelling mistakes to possible bacterial contamination.
Tesco Grape & Berry Medley recalled over salmonella
Tesco recalled its Grape & Berry Medley in February after salmonella was found in the product during testing. The company said: "As a precaution, Tesco is recalling the specific date codes of Tesco Grape & Berry Medley 230G, due to the detection of Salmonella during testing, which may make the product unsafe to eat."
Morrisons pasta products pulled over listeria and allergen fears
Morrisons Chicken and Bacon Pasta was recalled in August, along with two other products, because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. A customer notice read: "As a precaution Morrisons is recalling Morrisons Chicken and Bacon Pasta 300g with the date code 7th Aug due to Listeria being found in the ingredients used to manufacture this product."
The notice added: "Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund. We don’t need a receipt."
In June, Morrisons also recalled its Coronation Chicken Pasta over fears that some packs might contain Florida Salad, which contains milk and was not mentioned on the label.
Tesco Special Fried Rice recalled over undeclared gluten
Tesco recalled its Special Fried Rice in January due to a labelling error, as the product contained wheat (gluten) which was not mentioned on the label. Customers were told: "Tesco is recalling the above product from customers and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall."
The company also issued a recall notice to customers, explaining why the product was being recalled and what to do if they had bought it.
