Irn-Bru maker recalls Rubicon juices over undeclared sulphites
Rubicon juices recalled over undeclared sulphite health risk

AG Barr, the maker of Irn-Bru, has issued an urgent 'do not consume' warning for specific batches of Rubicon still juices sold across the UK. The recall follows the discovery of undeclared sulphites in the products.

Which products are affected

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the manufacturer recalled the drinks due to the presence of undeclared sulphites. The allergy alert affects Rubicon blends Yuzu and Pink Grapefruit Still 1L (Tetra carton) with four batch codes and best before dates.

In a notice, AG Barr said it was initiating a precautionary recall of the specific batches due to the potential presence of undeclared sulphites, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to sulphur dioxide or sulphites.

Batch codes and best before dates

The recalled batch codes and best before dates are: 6160 (June 2027), 6198 (July 2027), 6219 (August 2027), and 6257 (September 2027). The batch code is stamped on top of the carton next to the cap.

No other Rubicon or AG Barr products are affected, the firm confirmed.

What customers should do

The manufacturer urged anyone who has bought an affected drink to please not consume it. Customers should return the drink to where they bought it.
