North East Postcode Lottery Winners for August 1-7

Six areas in the North East have won £1,000 each in the Postcode Lottery this week, with winning postcodes in Whitley Bay, Gateshead, Sunderland, Morpeth, and Darlington.

Winners from August 1-7

The winning postcodes were drawn between Saturday, August 1, and Friday, August 7. No one won the top prize in Saturday's £250,000 draw, but a street in Darlington (DL1 3PP) won £1,000. On Sunday, residents in Felling (NE10 8RH) received £1,000. Monday brought wins to Cambo near Morpeth (NE61 4BL) and Houghton-le-Spring (DH4 7EJ). After no winners on Tuesday, Wednesday saw West Monkseaton (NE25 9SJ) win, and Friday's draw returned to Houghton-le-Spring (DH5 9FY).

How the lottery works

The People's Postcode Lottery costs £12.50 per month, with participants using their full postcode as their entry. At least 30% of the ticket price goes to charities and local community projects. Since 2005, players have raised over £950 million for more than 9,000 charities and good causes.
