Morrisons has reduced the price of its lunchtime meal deal for customers signed up to its free More Card loyalty scheme. From September 28, cardholders can buy the deal for £3.65, while shoppers without the card will pay £4.25, according to The Penny Pincher.
What the deal includes
The meal deal includes an eligible main, a side and a drink. Available choices include Krispy Kreme doughnuts, pastries, Costa Express drinks and individual ice creams, as reported by Grocery Gazette. Morrisons has also made its £3.75 salad tray an eligible main, meaning More Card holders effectively save 10p on the salad while getting their drink and side free.
Price changes and availability
The supermarket previously charged a flat £3.75 for the standard meal deal for all customers. Now More Card holders get a better price, while those without the card pay more. The premium meal remains at £5.50 for everyone, according to reports.
The deal is available at Morrisons supermarkets nationwide, around 500 stores, as well as in select Morrisons Daily stores, though availability will vary.
Comparison with other supermarkets
Most major supermarket chains offer their own lunchtime meal deals, with notable exceptions including Lidl and Aldi. At Tesco, the meal deal costs £3.85 for Clubcard holders or £4.25 without one, as per Student Beans. Its premium meal is £5.50 with a Clubcard and £6 without. Co-op charges £3.85 for members and £4.25 for non-members, while Sainsbury's offers its deal at £3.95 with no loyalty discount and its premium bundle at £5.50.
