Major UK supermarkets including Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose have issued urgent recall notices this week, with the Food Standards Agency (FSA) alerting customers to a range of safety risks. Shoppers have been urged not to consume certain products and to return them for a full refund.
Graham's Family Dairy has recalled semi-skimmed milk sold in 1 litre, 2 litre and 1 pint bottles with an expiry date of July 31, 2026. The recall, which applies to England only, was triggered by the possible presence of veterinary medicine, including antibiotics. The FSA warned that the product may be unsafe for anyone with an allergy to penicillin and advised customers to return the milk to the store of purchase.
Waitrose has also recalled its Waitrose & Partners 8 Chocolate Chip Brioche Rolls due to the potential presence of plastic and metal pieces. The affected batch carries the code B26177 and a best before date of July 26. The company apologised for the inconvenience and advised customers not to consume the product, offering refunds on return.
In a separate alert, Doritos Chilli Heatwave 140g packs are being recalled because some packets may have been filled with Tangy Cheese seasoning, which contains milk not declared on the label. The affected batch code is GBC 209 184C with a best before date of December 5, 2026. The FSA has advised anyone with a milk allergy or intolerance not to eat the product and to return it for a refund, with the recall covering England, Scotland and Wales.
