Milo Snack Bars Recalled Due to Rubber Contamination Risk

Nestlé Initiates Urgent Recall of Milo Snack Bars Following Rubber Contamination Incident

In a significant product safety alert, Nestlé has issued an urgent nationwide recall for specific batches of Milo snack bars after discovering contamination from rubber fragments during manufacturing. The recall affects Milo Original Snack Bars in 210g packs and Milo Dipped Snack Bars sold in 270g, 160g, and 960g boxes, which were distributed across multiple Australian states and major retailers.

Manufacturing Equipment Failure Leads to Safety Concerns

A spokesperson for Nestlé explained that the contamination occurred due to an equipment failure at a contract manufacturer's facility. 'Small pieces of black rubber were dislodged during production, prompting immediate action to safeguard consumers,' the spokesperson stated. Although investigations suggest only a limited number of products are impacted, Nestlé is proceeding with the recall as a precautionary measure, emphasizing their commitment to stringent quality and safety protocols.

Consumer Advisory and Refund Instructions

Andrew Lawrey, General Manager of Snacks at Nestlé Oceania, has urged customers to check their purchases and return any affected items. 'If you have purchased any of these products, please return them to the place of purchase for a full refund,' he advised. The recall includes products with best-before dates of August 31, 2026, and specific batch numbers, which have been identified and communicated to retailers and authorities.
