Meghan Markle's As Ever brand has released new products, including a Holiday Advent Calendar priced at around £112 ($148 US dollars), which has drawn criticism online over its cost. The Duchess of Sussex launched the brand last year, basing it around items she is passionate about, such as candles, flower sprinkles, wines, teas and pantry gift sets.
Pricey items in the As Ever range
The Holiday Advent Calendar contains 24 handcrafted chocolates in a keepsake design inspired by Meghan's Montecito home and garden. Another product, The Cozy Duo set, which includes two candles and a matchbox, retails for around £96 (about $128 US dollars).
The brand's Signature Scent Collection, made up of four candles and the As Ever matchbox, is sold for around £193, which equates to $256. These prices have been a frequent subject of online criticism aimed at the duchess.
Fans continue to buy despite costs
Despite the high prices, customers and fans continue to purchase As Ever goods. Several items are currently sold out online, including a leather bookmark that costs around £15.
Product launches continue to generate excitement among Meghan's fans, with many taking to X to celebrate the announcement of the new holiday advent calendar. One fan wrote: "So excited I pre-ordered mine."
Another person commented: "Amazing Christmas gifts!! We ordered calendars this morning." A third said: "Such a great idea! Advent calendars that meet the tastes of individuals and families are on the rise. I can't wait to order. The quality of everything I've received has been top-notch, both in packaging and taste."
