Lottery seeks winners of £16m in unclaimed prizes

The National Lottery is appealing for the winners of nine huge prizes worth a whopping £16M - including two £1M jackpots won from tickets purchased in Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Two £1M prizes unclaimed

The first winning Lotto ticket was purchased at a National Lottery retailer in Tameside, Greater Manchester, for the draw on July 1, 2026. The winning numbers in round 2 were 5, 8, 26, 33, 39, 42 and the Bonus Ball was 54. This Tameside ticket-holder has until midnight on 28 December 2026 to claim their prize.

Another winning Lotto ticket was purchased at a retailer in Cheshire East for the draw just a few days later on Saturday, July 4. The draw saw 14 millionaires made in total, ten of which were made in the Guaranteed Millionaire Raffle - with this lucky ticket-holder being one of them. The Cheshire millionaire won with the code AQUA 0049 1681 to scoop £1M, and they have until midnight on New Years Eve (31 December 2026) to claim their prize.

Winners urged to check tickets

Having seen their own lives transformed by a £1M Lotto win last year, Darren and Laura McGuire from Bolton are encouraging players in Tameside and Cheshire East to check their tickets. Darren said: "Our Lotto win has allowed us to plan our dream wedding, and I have taken a step back from working seven days a week to spend more time with the kids – which means more than anything. I still pinch myself that it’s real and it actually happened to us. Winning £1,000,000 has meant so much to our family and it could do the same for two winners sat on the exact amount nearby. I can’t say this enough – check your tickets, tell your friends to check theirs – colleagues, family – the postman – everyone who bought a ticket in Cheshire East or Tameside as it really could be you."

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: "Right now, there are two £1,000,000, Lotto prizes waiting to be claimed by their rightful owners and the clock is ticking. Somewhere in the Borough of Tameside and Cheshire East, or perhaps much further afield, two lucky ticket-holders could be completely unaware that they've become millionaires. Thirty days on from the draws, we're asking everyone who bought a Lotto ticket in these areas to take another look. Check your wallet, check the kitchen drawer, check the shopping bag and make sure friends and family do the same. Winning £1,000,000 can make a remarkable difference, whether it's paying off the mortgage, helping family, travelling the world or simply providing financial freedom and we'd love nothing more than to unite these prizes with the winners. If you've got a ticket for either of these draws, please check it carefully because it really could be you."

Other unclaimed prizes

Aside from those two local winners, there is a Millionaire Maker winner from Hartlepool with a deadline of September 9. This was from a draw on March 13 and the winning code was JLZG 97793. Two Set For Life prizes - which pay people their jackpot every month rather than in one lump sum - worth £120,000 were won on April 2 and June 11 from tickets purchased in Croydon and Northamptonshire. And a mega £12M prize was won in a Lotto draw on June 6 from a player in Wales. This multi-millionaire has until December 3 to come forward and claim their cash.
