The Food Standards Agency has issued alerts for three snack products recalled from stores due to undeclared allergens. Two are Christmas biscuits sold at Home Bargains, and the third is a batch of Pot Noodles.
Home Bargains biscuits recalled over undeclared allergens
Lambertz is recalling Lambertz Mini Spekulatius and Lambertz Christmas Tree Cookies because they contain allergens not declared in English on the label. The affected products were sold in Home Bargains stores.
The biscuits contain barley and wheat (gluten), hazelnuts (nuts), milk, lactose and whey (milk), and lecithin (soya). They may also contain egg, lupin, other nuts, peanuts, and sesame, making them a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to these ingredients, or with coeliac disease.
Pot Noodle batch recalled due to production error
Unilever is recalling Pot Noodle Piri Piri Chicken Flavour because it contains milk not declared on the label. The recall affects 90g packs with a best before date of May 2027. The batch code is L6232PB796.
Pot Noodle stated that due to a production error, the batch contains milk and other ingredients not listed on the packaging. While milk is listed as a precautionary 'may contain' ingredient, the company said this could pose a safety risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.
What shoppers should do
Anyone who has bought the affected items is asked to return them to the store from where they were purchased for a full refund. For the biscuits, customers can also contact support@home.bargains. For the Pot Noodles, customers can contact the Unilever Consumer Care Line at ukicare@unilever.com or call 0800 146 252.
The Food Standards Agency advises customers with relevant allergies not to eat the recalled products and to return them for a refund.
