Amazon shoppers can now get the Fire TV Stick HD for just £4.57, thanks to a combination of the retailer's ongoing sale and a lesser-known cashback offer. The popular streaming device has been cut from £59.99 to £19.99, but new members of the deals website TopCashback can reduce the price further by claiming a £15 bonus when they spend £15 or more.
Combining these two savings brings the Fire TV Stick down to £4.57 after cashback, a total of £55.42 off the original price. The offer is exclusively available to new TopCashback members, while existing members will pay £19.57 after cashback.
Fire TV Stick 4K Plus also reduced
The same approach can be applied to the more powerful Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, bringing its sale price of £34.99 down to £19.26. However, the majority of shoppers have gone for the HD model, which currently sits as the second-best-selling Amazon device, behind only the Ring Battery Video Doorbell and Ring Indoor Camera bundle (£39.99, was £59.98).
The streaming stick plugs directly into a TV's HDMI port, unlocking a vast library of films and series across platforms including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Apple TV. It effectively turns any standard television into a smart TV, with no need for a satellite dish or aerial.
Free content and gaming options
Beyond paid streaming services, there is also an abundance of free content available on BBC iPlayer, ITVX and YouTube. Amazon claims the Fire TV Stick HD is the 'fastest ever' with a revamped interface enabling users to locate content more quickly, then stream in up to 1080p Full HD with Dolby-encoded audio.
Gaming enthusiasts can tap into a catalogue of video games via Amazon Luna and Xbox Game Pass, with other notable features including WiFi 6 compatibility, 8GB of storage and an Alexa voice remote. Amazon faces competition in the streaming stick space, including from the Roku HD Streaming Stick, which delivers the same content but carries a steeper £29.99 price point.
How to get the Fire TV Stick HD for £4.57
To take advantage of the deal, shoppers need to sign up to TopCashback, search for Amazon Devices and click 'Get Cashback Now', then shop and checkout as usual. Cashback will track and appear in the TopCashback account within seven working days of purchase, and becomes payable after Amazon has paid the commission.
The newest HD model has an average rating of 4.1 stars at Amazon. One user praised its speeds, saying: "It was a good price, easy to set up and getting it connected to the TV didn't take long at all. The remote is responsive, and the Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube buttons are especially handy. Everything has worked well so far, and streaming is smooth."
Another user highlighted the interface: "I've used Fire TV Sticks for years, and this HD version does exactly what I need it to. Setup is quick and straightforward, the interface is easy to navigate, and all the main streaming apps I use are available in one place. Performance is responsive for everyday streaming, and I've had no problems with buffering or reliability."
Some buyers took issue with the length of the cable, as this three-star review highlights: "The power cable is very short with no plug, so you either have to buy a longer cable and plug or buy an HDMI extension." Another delighted purchaser said: "Such a great, clever device. It's turned my old TVs into smart TVs. Instantly connects to my Alexa profile, connects to the TV via the HDMI port and is then able to control the volume using the TV's pre-existing interface and has everything we need - including saving us money buying a new up-to-date TV."
