Faked Deliveries Exposed by Home CCTV

An Evri delivery driver has been dismissed after a series of home security videos captured the courier systematically faking parcel deliveries in a Merseyside community. Residents of Netherton were left furious after receiving delivery confirmations for items that never arrived, with the shocking footage providing the evidence needed for action.

A Community's Christmas Spoiled by Missing Parcels

The incident came to light when multiple locals began comparing experiences of missing parcels after receiving official notifications from Evri confirming their deliveries. The company had provided photographs showing packages placed at their doors, but the items had vanished by the time residents went to collect them.

Sharon Woodford, 44, had ordered £80 worth of bracelets as Christmas presents for her 13-year-old daughter and niece. She received a delivery confirmation from Evri on November 17, complete with a photograph showing her parcel outside a neighbour's door. When she investigated, the parcel was nowhere to be found.

Security camera footage from the neighbour's property revealed the truth: the Evri courier placed the parcel on the doorstep, took the required photograph as proof of delivery, then immediately picked the package back up and walked away with it.

After making a formal complaint to Evri, Sharon shared her experience on a local Facebook group. "The community page lit up with people saying that they have had the same thing happen," she explained. "Imagine how many people are missing parcels at Christmas, and a lot of people don't have a lot of money. Some won't be able to afford to replace missing presents."

Multiple Victims and Company Response

The pattern continued with other residents falling victim to the same scheme. Chloe Harrison-King, 22, a mother of two young children, experienced identical circumstances with a clothing delivery that vanished on November 17. Her building's security cameras captured the same driver lingering outside before placing her parcel down, photographing it, and then leaving with the item.

"I've got no faith left in humanity at all," Chloe remarked after discovering the deception.

Another resident, ex-serviceman Derek Wood, 55, encountered a different but related issue with his Evri delivery. He found his gym flask package had been torn open with the contents stolen. He quipped bitterly: "Are they called Evri because every parcel is going missing?"

Mr Wood highlighted the seasonal impact, stating: "At this time of year, a lot of people will be ordering Christmas presents, and sometimes you haven't got the time to replace them. Stress levels will be going through the roof."

Following the complaints and video evidence, Evri confirmed the courier has been sacked. A company spokesperson stated: "Every parcel matters to us. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards behaviour of this kind, and the courier will no longer be delivering on behalf of Evri."

The spokesperson added context to the incident, noting: "We deliver 900 million parcels each year and the overwhelming majority of our 30,000 couriers are hard-working people who go out of their way to serve their local community and are highly regarded by customers who award them an average star rating of 4.6 out of 5."
