Woman Tastes Every Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons Flavor, Crowns Two Winners
Cadbury Buttons Taste Test: Two Clear Winners

A chocolate-loving Brit has sampled every version of a Cadbury Dairy Milk treat in a bid to crown the ultimate winner.

The humble Dairy Milk Buttons comprise a distinctive flat round shape that first appeared on UK shelves in 1960 and, more than six decades on, continue to rank among the confectioner's best-selling ranges. Throughout the years, countless iterations of the beloved treat have emerged, including Orange, Mint, Caramel, and Bournville varieties available within Cadbury's Share Bag collection. Now, Leah Watki has set out to settle which reigns supreme.

"Buttons are elite, but the question is - which one's the best?" she announced in an Instagram clip.

The Taste Test

Classic Dairy Milk Buttons

Starting with the classic, Leah ripped open a packet of Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons. "Wow," she declared. "I literally ate a whole packet of these the other night - they are just so good and you just can't beat the classic." She granted it a perfect 10 out of 10.

Darkmilk Buttons

Following this was the darker alternative, known simply as Cadbury Darkmilk Buttons. While conceding they are "nice," Leah confessed she "wouldn't be going back for more" after sampling a few pieces. She gave it a five out of 10 rating.

Caramilk Buttons

Third in the line-up was Cadbury Caramilk Buttons - a caramelised white chocolate offering. "They are really good, but they are just so sweet," Leah observed before settling on a seven out of 10 score.

Twisted Buttons

Dairy Milk Buttons Twisted were fourth up, combining milk and white chocolate displayed in a swirling pattern across each button. "I love the combination," Leah declared. "That's a nine out of 10."

Bournville Buttons

Up next in the tasting session was Bournville, Cadbury's renowned smooth dark chocolate named after the Birmingham village where it was first produced in 1908. "I personally love Bournville," Leah gushed. "It is my favourite dark chocolate because it has just the right amount of sweetness. Eight out of 10."

Caramel Nibbles

Labelled 'Nibbles' rather than Buttons, this treat features a caramel-filled button, marginally thicker than the others on Leah's list. "Cadbury Caramel is top tier," she exclaimed. "But it is so sweet and these would get sickly very quickly. Nine out of 10."

White Buttons

White chocolate arrived as a later addition to Cadbury's vast range, with Cadbury White Buttons launching in 2019. "I have never been a white chocolate fan," Leah confessed. "But these are actually really good. Seven out of 10."

Orange Buttons

Dairy Milk Buttons Orange served as the eighth and final contender in the experiment. "Wow, chocolate orange is a top tier combination," Leah enthused. "A 10 out of 10."

So there we have it - the classic Dairy Milk Buttons and Dairy Milk Buttons Orange reign supreme, according to Leah.

Leah's followers were equally forthcoming with their opinions. One remarked: "Nothing beats the original." A second person declared: "Caramilk are my favourite." While a third Instagram user said: "The original/Caramel are [best]."
