Busch Light Offers 19 Years of Beer to Fans Who Change Name to Hunter

Busch Light is launching a promotional campaign that offers a winner 19 years' worth of beer, but with an unusual condition: they must legally change their name to Hunter. The contest marks the 19th annual release of the brand's Hunting Cans.

According to Anheuser-Busch, the parent company, the name Hunter has declined in popularity by 93% over the past five years. The company will cover the costs of the name change for the winner, including fees and paperwork.

To enter, participants aged 21 or over must comment on Busch Light's sweepstakes posts on Facebook, X, or Instagram using the hashtags #BecomeAHunter and #Sweepstakes. The contest runs until 13 October, with a winner selected at random on or about 15 October.

The prize includes a prepaid card worth £5,500, which can be used to buy a 30-pack of Busch Light once a month for 19 years. The winner will also receive reimbursement for the legal name change.

Krystyn Stowe, Head of Marketing for the Busch Family at Anheuser-Busch, said: 'At Busch Light, we know hunters are dedicated, passionate, and always up for the thrill of the chase. Our dedication to our fans is no different.'

Additionally, Busch Light will host a private gathering on 16 November in Appleton, Wisconsin, for those named Hunter or who have changed their name to it, along with hunting enthusiasts and fans.
