Matt Willis has shared how his wife, Emma Willis, is settling into her new role as a host on Strictly Come Dancing, describing it as her "dream job".
The presenter has been fronting the hit BBC One dance show alongside Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe for a few weeks now, after the trio were chosen to replace Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman following their exits at the end of the 2025 series.
New hosting line-up
It is the first time three people have hosted the show, with fans getting used to the new line-up. The hosts have been splitting presenting responsibilities - Emma and Josh stick by the judges' table, like Tess used to, while Johannes joins the couples on the balcony ahead of the score reveal, the role previously occupied by Claudia.
According to Matt, Emma is enjoying herself. Appearing on BBC Breakfast, host Jon asked: "It's been a new start for Strictly, there has been lots of scrutiny on whether it's working or how it's working. But from the inside, from home, Emma's happy?" to which the Busted star replied: "She's over the moon!"
Matt's support and personal take
Continuing to show his support, Matt said: "I think she's doing a brilliant job. She adores the show. She's such a fan, so for her to be presenting Strictly is like a dream job, and I think you can tell how much she loves it. She's having a ball, she's really enjoying herself."
And Emma being part of the show has made him more invested in the series than ever: "I love it, it's my first time religiously watching the show, and I love it. I'm well in."
It comes after Matt, 43, said he has been approached to appear on Strictly several times over the years. However, he now believes that since his wife is associated with it, he has a good reason not to take part. He told The Telegraph: "Now I have a very valid reason to turn it down. I can’t think of anything worse. It’d be like the first night in the theatre, but every week."
