BOXT helped a homeowner replace an ancient 25-year-old boiler with a new Worcester Bosch model, offering a smooth process from video consultation to next-day fitting. The installation included a free Hive smart thermostat and left the home heating up instantly.
Consultation and booking
The process began with an online enquiry, followed by a video call with a BOXT specialist. During the call, the team guided the customer through boiler selection, asking about the existing model, flue location, and engineer access. The consultant explained water hardness, technical details, and different models, then presented a page with boiler options and additional services like chemical washes and water hardness modifications.
After choosing, the customer received quotes and could finalise agreements. BOXT arranged a fitting date with availability the very next day, thanks to a network of 1,000 engineers. The consultation call lasted no longer than half an hour, leaving the customer informed and assured.
Pre-installation and fitting day
Following the call, BOXT sent assurances that answers could still be changed. Customers are asked to submit photos of their gas meter and access points until 2pm the day before installation. The day before, the customer received the engineer's name, arrival time, and even tea and coffee preferences.
On the day, engineer Marcin Lampart from ML Climate Solutions arrived on time and worked tidily. He discovered a gas leak in the home, safely cut it off, and proceeded with the installation. He also replaced radiator valves, performed a chemical wash, and routed pipework neatly. The engineer set up a Hive system, allowing the heating to be controlled via phone and smart thermostat.
Aftercare and verdict
After installation, BOXT provided advice on maintaining the boiler and a full care plan. The customer reports the home now heats up instantly, with new radiator valves and smart heating maintaining the perfect temperature while saving money. The experience was described as a total game-changer and completely worth it.
