A food influencer has revealed a hack for getting the most out of a Boots meal deal, securing more than £10 worth of items for under a fiver. Claudia Greiner, a content creator who regularly posts budgeting tips, shared the money-saving trick in a video on her social media on Sunday (October 11).
The Most Expensive Meal Deal Items
In the clip, Claudia is seen scouring the shelves of Boots for the most expensive items in a bid to construct the priciest meal deal possible and save the most money at the checkout. The Boots meal deal allows customers to choose a main, drink, and snack for a set price of £3.99, although prices can vary depending on location.
In Claudia's local store, the usual cost of a Boots meal deal is £5.25, but it is just £4.99 with a Boots Advantage Card. After comparing the price tickets of all the mains on offer, Claudia concludes that the most expensive option was a £4.35 chicken katsu and tempura rice bowl.
Calculating the Savings
Claudia then selects the most expensive drink available, a vanilla Huel meal replacement drink which retails at £3.85. Lastly, she hunts down the most expensive snack option Boots has to offer. After looking through the refrigerated and non-refrigerated items, she decides it is the Trek protein bar, which costs £3.05 to buy on its own.
Claudia calculates that the total cost of buying her meal deal items individually would be £10.65. But because the meal deal costs just £4.99, it means that Claudia saves a total of £5.66.
Speaking in the video shared on her TikTok channel @claudiagreiner, Claudia said: "If you were to buy everything individually then it would be £10.65. The Huel drink was actually more expensive than the main, which is crazy. The meal deal price is £4.99, so when you take that away I'm saving £5.66 - that's amazing and this is good quality stuff as well, I'm so happy."
