B&M has announced that several of its stores will close this month for refurbishment or relocation, with specific dates now confirmed.
Carmarthen Relocation
The B&M store in Carmarthen will move from its town centre location to the former B&Q building on Glanyafon Road. The existing Hall Street shop will close on Saturday, August 15, and the new Parc Pensam store will open the following Saturday, August 22.
While the new premises is considerably larger, the closure of the current location will be a significant blow to the town's high street. The unit is one of Carmarthen town centre's biggest retail spaces and was previously home to Woolworths for decades.
Sunderland Refurbishment
Meanwhile, B&M's Hylton Riverside Retail Park store in Sunderland will close for refurbishment on Sunday, August 16, and reopen on Saturday, August 22.
On its website, B&M apologised for any inconvenience, adding: "In order to complete the final phase, it will be necessary for a closure period."
The retailer further explained that the expansion works were designed to offer shoppers a "bigger and better B&M experience".
