Baxters has recalled cans of its Chef Selections Cullen Skink soup, a smoked haddock chowder, because of a manufacturing fault that could cause the tins to spoil and potentially rupture.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the issue may cause the product to spoil and cans to "swell and potentially rupture". If spoilt, the soup may have an "unpleasant odour and flavour", the FSA added.
Which batches are affected
The Scottish soup company said the issue may affect the 400g cans with batch code L07XC and an April 2029 best before date. Food Standards Scotland issued the same warning.
Shoppers who bought the soup in England, Wales, and Scotland have been told not to eat it, and to instead throw the whole can away without opening it.
What customers should do
"Carefully place the full can in a bag and dispose of it in an external bin," the FSA told customers. People seeking a replacement are told to contact Baxters customer care team.
