Strictly Come Dancing contestant Lacey Turner has revealed her surprise at the dramatic change in her body, which she attributes to the intense training schedule for the BBC show. The 38-year-old EastEnders actress, competing with professional dancer Vito Coppola, said her clothes no longer fit as her physique has tightened during the competition.
Last week, Turner topped the leaderboard with her Charleston routine, earning nines from all four judges alongside Coppola. The actress, who admitted she has never been particularly concerned about her shape or size, said she has been taken aback by the transformation.
Training Results and Recovery
Speaking to The Sun, Turner said: "Nothing fits me any more! I mean, considering the amount of pastries we eat and the pasta we eat, I'm shocked!" She described the effect of the training as like a "vacuum pack," explaining that while she may not necessarily lose weight, "everything sort of tightens up and you feel stronger."
The mother of three also noted she has been amazed by how quickly she now recovers from the tough training sessions, saying it feels as though her body is becoming "resilient."
Favourites for the Glitter Ball
Fans have tipped Turner to reach the final of the dance contest, with bookmakers making her one of two favourites to lift the Glitter Ball trophy. This year's celebrity line-up includes Love Island star Cach Mercer, TV personality Dani Dyer, singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem, actress Jaime Winstone, dog trainer Graeme Hall and Olympic skeleton athlete Tabby Stoecker.
After last weekend's Halloween-themed show, viewers believe either Turner or Stoecker will be crowned winner. On Reddit, one user wrote: "Lacey's Charleston was an absolute vibe! So glad she finally had her breakthrough moment!" Another fan commented: "I loved her Charleston and I'm not normally a big fan of the style. Lacey was so light and relaxed it was just really fun to watch."
While many major UK bookmakers still lean toward Turner as the overall favourite, recent strong performances, including a pair of perfect tens, have seen Stoecker surge to the top spot on several alternative trackers.
