Baxters has recalled its Chef Selections Cullen Skink soup, a smoked haddock chowder, because of a manufacturing fault that may cause the product to spoil and cans to swell and potentially rupture.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the fault could lead to spoilage, and if the soup goes off it may have an unpleasant odour and flavour.
Which cans are affected
The recall affects 400g cans with batch code L07XC and an April 2029 best before date.
Shoppers who bought the soup in England and Wales have been told not to eat it and to throw the whole can away without opening it.
What customers should do
The FSA advised customers to carefully place the full can in a bag and dispose of it in an external bin.
People seeking a replacement are asked to contact the Baxters customer care team.
