Aldi has announced its opening hours for the second May bank holiday, which falls on Monday, May 25, 2026. The supermarket has also advised shoppers on the quietest times to visit over the weekend.
On Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23, Aldi stores will be open from 8am to 10pm. On Sunday, May 24, opening hours will be 10am to 4pm. For the bank holiday Monday, May 25, most stores will operate from 8am to 8pm.
Shoppers looking to avoid crowds are advised to visit between 8am and 9am or later in the evening between 7pm and 10pm, based on guidance for the first May bank holiday.
Rachel Geary, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “Bank holiday weekends are a great opportunity to get together with family and friends and enjoy delicious food. At Aldi, we’ve made it easy for shoppers to pick up everything they need at unbeatable value.”
The announcement comes as Aldi revealed plans to install solar panels at 62 more stores in 2026, as part of an £8.4 million investment. The retailer has already fitted panels at 470 stores, with each installation providing up to 30% of a store’s annual energy needs.
