Mobile network Spusu has frozen its SIM-only prices for the third consecutive year, guaranteeing that customers signing up for its flexible monthly plans will not see their bills increase until at least 2027. The European brand's 30-day rolling SIMs start at £4.90 per month for 5GB of data with unlimited UK minutes and texts, undercutting rivals such as Sky Mobile and giffgaff.
Price freeze amid industry-wide hikes
Most major networks, including Sky Mobile, EE and Vodafone, apply inflation-linked price increases each April, leaving customers on lengthy contracts with little option but to pay more. Spusu's move breaks from this trend by locking in prices for new customers.
The £4.90 plan also includes 3GB of data and 500 minutes for use in the EU, making it suitable for autumn or winter trips abroad. Heavier users can opt for a 15GB SIM at £6.90 or a 40GB SIM at £9.90.
Network coverage and customer feedback
Spusu runs on the EE network, giving customers access to 4G and 5G coverage that is said to reach 99% of the UK population. The deals are available on a 30-day rolling contract, so customers are not tied into lengthy 12, 24 or 36-month agreements.
The offers expire on October 15, after which the current pricing may no longer be available. Spusu's plans compare favourably with Sky Mobile, where monthly plans start at 3GB for £4 on a 12-month contract, and roaming in 120 destinations costs an extra £2 per day for most customers. Giffgaff offers flexible 30-day SIMs ranging from 2GB for £6 to unlimited for £20, though customers signing an 18-month contract can get the same unlimited bundle for £14.
Positive Trustpilot reviews
Customer reviews on Trustpilot are largely positive, with many praising the lower price and coverage compared with rival brands. One reviewer said: “Excellent network coverage compared with Sky. Customer service is excellent. Price is also very good.”
Another added: “I switched to spusu and it’s been faultless. It runs on the best EE 5G network so the coverage has been excellent wherever I’ve been. Customer service [is] genuinely exceptional, friendly, quick, and completely pain-free.”
One reviewer highlighted a potential downside, noting: “Reliable, good service nationwide, but HD voice does not work from the UK to the EU. It is something to improve.” Another customer said: “I changed to spusu from EE. Half the price, fast speeds and fantastic customer service. I can’t fault them.”
