To qualify for the £180 bonus, customers must submit a switch request to an eligible Santander current account before the offer concludes. Santander has clarified that the payment will be transferred into the eligible account within 60 days of the switch request, provided it is processed through the Current Account Switch Service (CASS). This service facilitates the seamless transfer of income, Direct Debits, and standing orders from an old bank to Santander.

Key Requirements for the Switching Bonus

Customers must fulfill several conditions to receive the £180 payment. Within 60 days of the initial application, they need to complete the full switch via CASS. Additionally, they must maintain two active household Direct Debits on the account and deposit a minimum of £1,500. Acceptable household Direct Debits include council tax bills, mobile and landline phone bills, broadband and subscription TV packages, gas and electricity bills, and water bills.

Exclusions and Eligible Accounts

Individuals who held a current account with Santander on January 1, 2025, or have previously claimed a Santander switcher incentive, are not eligible for the bonus. The switching bonus is available with specific current accounts, including the Everyday Current Account, Santander Edge current account, Santander Edge Up current account, Santander Edge Explorer current account, and Private Current Account.
