Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was found dead at her home in south London. The death of 60-year-old Nicole Beling is being treated as unexplained.
Discovery at home in Croydon
Police were alerted by a family member who reported Ms Beling missing at around 12.05am on Friday, July 17. She was graded as a high-risk missing person, and officers visited her home in Dittoncroft Close, Croydon, later that morning.
Following a search of the property, officers discovered a woman's body, which has been formally identified as Ms Beling. Her family are being supported by specialist officers.
Arrest and investigation
A 61-year-old man was arrested at the scene on Friday, July 17, on suspicion of murder and later released under investigation. He was further arrested on Saturday, August 1, and has been bailed while inquiries continue.
The Met Police states that at this time, Ms Beling's death is being treated as unexplained. Her cause of death remains under investigation. Inquiries are being led by specialist officers from the Met's Specialist Crime Command.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said: “A formal murder investigation has not been launched at this time and we are keeping an open mind as to the circumstances surrounding Nicole’s sad death. We want to hear from anyone who knew Nicole or may have information that could assist the investigation – and help us find answers for her family. My thoughts remain with Nicole’s family and loved ones.”
