Piers Morgan's Uncensored Valued at $145 Million, Blow to Meghan

Piers Morgan has announced a major milestone for his Uncensored media business, with investors valuing it at $145 million — a success story said to be a bitter blow for Meghan Markle, his longtime adversary.

From GMB Exit to YouTube Empire

After dramatically walking out of ITV's Good Morning Britain in 2021 following a dispute over his comments about Meghan's Oprah Winfrey interview — during which he declared he "didn't believe a word" she said — Morgan launched his own YouTube channel. Initially airing on TalkTV, he later moved his Uncensored programme exclusively to YouTube and expanded with spin-offs including The Royals Uncensored and World Cup Uncensored.

Speaking on The Karl Stefanovic Show, Morgan revealed the business now boasts 4.5 million subscribers and generates substantial revenue from advertising and sponsorships. He said: "It's got 4.5 million subscribers now, and generates a lot of cash from advertising and sponsorships."

Building a Self-Sustaining Brand

Morgan explained his strategy to reduce reliance on his personal brand: "I knew I had to build a business which would actually in the end become much less reliant on me. So I decided to take Uncensored as the brand of the business." He highlighted the success of World Cup Uncensored, which outperformed Gary Lineker's Netflix show despite a $14 million budget difference. "We're doing bigger numbers than Gary Lineker's show, which Netflix paid $14 million for. We don't pay anyone to market our content. We do it all ourselves," he added.

Valuation and Financial Impact

Morgan disclosed: "The investors have valued the business $145 million US." He noted that he has owned the business for only 18 months, stating: "We've got a business worth nearly $150 million in 18 months. I think the sky's the limit for this stuff." The valuation is approximately 100 times his estimated annual ITV salary of £1.1 million. This financial triumph stems from the free speech controversy involving Meghan Markle, which ultimately boosted Morgan's entrepreneurial venture.
