McDonald's Launches KPop Demon Hunters Menu After Record-Breaking Big Arch Burger
McDonald's KPop Demon Hunters Menu Launch with Netflix

McDonald's has unveiled an exciting new partnership with Netflix, launching a special KPop Demon Hunters-inspired menu just weeks after introducing its largest-ever burger, the Big Arch, to the United States market. The fast-food giant announced that US customers will be able to order the limited-edition items starting March 31, marking a significant expansion of their spring menu offerings.

Collaborative Menu Inspired by Netflix Hit

The collaboration brings to life the rivalry between the two KPop groups featured in Netflix's animated movie, KPop Demon Hunters. McDonald's is offering two distinct adult combo meals – one representing HUNTR/X and another for the Saja Boys – along with a completely new McFlurry flavor designed to capture the film's vibrant spirit.

Dueling Meal Options

The Saja Boys Breakfast Meal will be available exclusively during morning hours and features a Sausage McMuffin with Egg enhanced by a peppery Spicy Saja Sauce. This breakfast combo also includes Hash Browns and a small soft drink, providing fans with a complete morning dining experience inspired by the boy band characters.

For lunch and dinner service, customers can order the HUNTR/X meal, which consists of a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets order accompanied by Ramyeon McShaker Fries. These special fries come with a unique seasoning blend of soy, garlic, sesame, and spice that draws inspiration from the ramen enjoyed by the KPop girl group in the film. To prepare the side dish, customers use a McShaker bag to distribute the umami seasoning evenly across the fries.

Signature Sauces and Collectibles

Both meals include exclusive dipping sauces that reflect the characters' personalities. The HUNTR/X meal comes with Hunter Sauce, a spicy sweet chili creation, and Demon Sauce, a distinctive purple-colored mustard sauce. Each combo will also feature collectible card backs containing QR codes and photocards representing either HUNTR/X or the Saja Boys.

Customers who scan these QR codes through the McDonald's App by April 26 will gain access to additional exclusive content, creating an interactive experience that bridges digital entertainment with physical dining.

New Dessert Creation

The menu expansion includes the Derpy McFlurry, a purple dessert inspired by the Derpy Tiger character from the film. This innovative treat combines creamy vanilla soft serve with berry-flavored popping pearls, all enrobed in a wild berry sauce. The McFlurry will be available as a standalone item throughout the day.

Strategic Marketing Partnership

Alyssa Buetikofer, McDonald's chief marketing and customer experience officer, emphasized the natural alignment between the two entertainment powerhouses. "Everything we do at McDonald's is for the fans, and no one can relate to that more than Netflix and KPop Demon Hunters," Buetikofer stated in Tuesday's press release. "Big things happen when you bring two massive fandoms together, and this partnership was a natural fit."

Marian Lee, Netflix's chief marketing officer, echoed this sentiment, noting that the collaboration allowed them to transform the fictional rivalry into a tangible consumer experience. "With McDonald's, we were able to turn the rivalry between The Saja Boys and Huntr/X into something fans can actually experience, drawing inspiration from Korean culture and food traditions that sit at the heart of the film," Lee explained.

Building on Recent Success

This menu launch follows closely on the heels of McDonald's introduction of the Big Arch burger, the chain's largest burger offering to date in the United States. The consecutive innovations demonstrate McDonald's commitment to refreshing their menu with culturally relevant partnerships and substantial new products that capture consumer attention during the spring season.

The limited-time KPop Demon Hunters menu represents a strategic move to leverage popular entertainment properties while introducing authentic Korean-inspired flavors to McDonald's traditional offerings. The partnership between the fast-food leader and streaming entertainment giant creates a multimedia experience that extends beyond the restaurant into digital content and collectible merchandise.
