Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Palmeiras over 16-year-old wonderkid Eduardo Conceicao, but face competition from Manchester City and Barcelona.

Globo Esporte report that discussions have taken place with United alongside Manchester City and Barcelona. Fees mentioned are understood to have been in the region of €25 million (£21.4m), plus $15 million (£12.9m) in performance-related bonuses.
Palmeiras Determined to Keep Conceicao
Nevertheless, negotiations are said to have cooled during the World Cup, with Palmeiras seemingly having altered their position. The club are now understood to have resolved to retain the player and promote him into the senior squad. Should they proceed with that approach, they believe they will be able to command a fee of €50 million (£42.8m) in subsequent transfer windows. Conceicao is already receiving guidance from the club's manager and the established players.
United's Youth Recruitment
