Lamine Camara Transfer Admission Amid Newcastle Interest

Newcastle United transfer target Lamine Camara has responded to fresh questions about his future but declined to comment on a potential move to the Premier League.

Impressive Season at Monaco

Camara enjoyed a strong campaign in Ligue 1 with Monaco and has been linked with a summer departure. Liverpool and Newcastle, both seeking midfield reinforcements, have monitored his progress.

The Senegal international made his World Cup debut on Tuesday, playing 76 minutes in a 3-1 loss to France at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Despite the defeat, Camara impressed against the tournament favourites, reinforcing speculation about a move away from Monaco.

Camara's Response to Rumours

Speaking to The Athletic before Senegal's match against France, Camara said: "Everyone knows the Premier League is a great league. There are some great players playing over there. But I don't pay much attention to rumours about which clubs might be interested."

He added: "I've never asked my agents which clubs are interested and I'm not someone who uses social media much. We don't know what the future holds. But I'm at Monaco, and I'm happy to be here playing in France."

Upcoming Fixtures

Camara will feature for Senegal against Norway in New Jersey on Tuesday morning, followed by a clash with Iraq in Toronto on Friday, June 26, to conclude their Group I campaign.
