Joe Hart has placed his faith in Khaldoon Al Mubarak's claim that Manchester City will be cleared of their Premier League charges. Hart, 39, "loved" the City chairman's letter and the way in which it was written. The former goalkeeper-turned-pundit described Al Mubarak as someone who cares about the club and has full confidence in what the Emirati CEO has told him.
Hart's confidence in the chairman
Al Mubarak's letter declared: "The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club's innocence is just as strong as when this began."
Appearing on BBC Radio 5 Live during The Monday Night Club, Hart said: "I've heard everyone else go down every single rabbit hole, every single wormhole, every single discussion. My honest opinion is I've got no reason not to trust Khaldoon [Al Mubarak]; what he said is enough for me. I loved how he spoke. I loved the letter because that was from someone who cared about the club."
Hart on a potential guilty verdict
Hart continued on the BBC's weekly radio show: "If Man City are found guilty, which I don't think they are because of what Khaldoon [Al Mubarak] said, then there are conversations to be had, but right now I'm very confident and very, very calm."
"I'm very proud of what I've achieved and what I did with Manchester City and what we achieved as a team. And that doesn't change, that doesn't change until you tell me."
The former England international concluded: "I did what I did. I lined up 11 v 11 and had it out on the pitch. I won some games, lost some games, drew some games, and I shook hands, and I walked off."
Al Mubarak's letter
"I know what I did, I know what we did, and I know how it happened. It didn't feel like we were scheming or plotting."
Al Mubarak further stated: "There are so many things that I would like to be able to share with you to help you understand why we feel so confident in our position."
"But the strict confidentiality of the legal process and our determination to respect it mean I cannot do that at the moment. Even this letter underwent several legal checks to make sure it complies."
"While some people have been quick to reach their own conclusions, and there is so much noise swirling around us, nothing has changed."
