A heating engineer from Manchester has shared how he will spend his £1,000,000 EuroMillions prize from a draw earlier this month. The anonymous winner, who purchased his ticket online, said he has been playing The National Lottery for 30 years and buying regular tickets has simply become part of his routine.
First Purchase and Future Plans
Wasting no time, the winner has already secured a brand new car, and is preparing to refurbish his home and get a sunny holiday booked in. Speaking about the big moment, the anonymous winner said: "I have played for 30 years, so buying regular tickets is a habit. I still can't believe I've won £1M. My first purchase was a new car for myself. I also plan to refurbish my home and book a holiday somewhere hot."

Grace Young, Winners' Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, congratulated the winner, saying: "Congratulations to our lucky Manchester winner. After 30 years of playing, it's fantastic to see his loyalty rewarded with a £1M prize. Unclaimed Prizes Across the UK
It comes as the National Lottery remains on the hunt for ten players, with a whopping £16,523,037.30 waiting to be claimed by the rightful winners. The big unclaimed sums include two £1M prizes with tickets purchased in Cheshire and Tameside. One of the £1M Lotto prizes was from a draw on July 1, where a player matched five numbers plus the bonus ball after purchasing a ticket in Tameside, Greater Manchester.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery said: "We’re urging anyone who may have bought a ticket in the Borough of Tameside for the Lotto draw on Wednesday 1 July to check their tickets carefully. Think about what you were doing in the days leading up to the draw – the UK was in the midst of a heatwave, with many people enjoying the sunshine, planning days out and making the most of the warm weather. Thinking about where you were and what you were doing at the time could help jog your memory. We want nothing more than to reunite the lucky ticket-holder with their life-changing Lotto prize."
Another local win was in a Lotto draw on July 4, where a player from Cheshire East secured the Millionaire Raffle prize to scoop £1M. This player has until December 31, 2026, to come forward and claim their winnings. Aside from those, there is a Millionaire Maker winner from Hartlepool with a deadline of September 9. This was from a draw on March 13 and the winning code was JLZG 97793.
Three Set For Life prizes - which pay people their jackpot every month rather than in one lump sum - worth £120,000 were won on April 2, May 18, and June 11 from tickets purchased in Croydon, Amber Valley, and Northamptonshire. And a mega £12M prize was won in a Lotto draw on June 6 from a player in Wales. This multi-millionaire has until December 3 to come forward and claim their cash.
