Harkins & Vickers Electrical Solutions Ltd, an Edinburgh-based electrical firm, has entered liquidation. Quantuma Advisory was appointed as liquidator on July 16, 2026, following a petition to wind up the company presented to Edinburgh Sheriff Court on April 21, 2026.
Company background
The firm, which describes itself as providing NICEIC-approved electricians for over 30 years, specialised in domestic and commercial sectors, working with landlords, homeowners and businesses across Scotland. It held accreditations from the Energy Saving Trust, Checkatrade and the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV). Clients included Dynamic Earth, the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, Savills and CALA Homes.
Liquidation details
According to a public gazette, Brian Milne of Quantuma Advisory Limited was appointed liquidator on July 16, 2026. The company’s registered address changed several times in recent months, from 1 Rodney Street to 121 Giles Street on May 18, 2026, and finally to the administrators' office at 86a George Street, Edinburgh. The gazette dated July 24, 2026 indicates that liquidators do not intend to establish a liquidation committee unless one tenth of creditors require one. Creditors are advised to lodge claims with liquidator Brian Milne.
Other recent Scottish collapses
Several other Scottish firms have entered administration or liquidation recently.
