Barron Trump Ventures into Beverage Industry with New Sollos Yerba Mate Brand

Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, has officially entered the consumer business world by co-founding a new beverage company. Alongside four business partners, he is preparing to launch Sollos Yerba Mate, a ready-to-drink caffeinated herbal tea, with its first flavor debut scheduled for May.

The Launch of Sollos Yerba Mate

Sollos Yerba Mate announced on LinkedIn that its inaugural product will be a pineapple and coconut flavored yerba mate, marketed as "the perfect summer drink." The beverage will be available in 12-packs starting next month. The company shared promotional content including a video of the drink being packaged in a factory and a clip featuring a 12-pack floating on a surfboard, highlighting the brand's "Sunshine State" aesthetic inspired by Florida's outdoor lifestyle.

The brand name Sollos carries symbolic meaning, derived from the Spanish word for sun, "sol," representing sunrise and the beginning of the day. The second part, "los," is "sol" spelled backward, symbolizing sunset and the day's conclusion. In a LinkedIn post, the company explained: "Together, SOLLOS captures the full cycle of the sun and that 'It Begins Where It Ends.'"

Company Strategy and Background

Unlike many beverage brands that launch with multiple flavors, Sollos Yerba Mate is focusing exclusively on one recipe initially. The team told Newsweek: "We didn't set out to make a flavor lineup; we set out to make the perfect drink. Most brands launch with five flavors, hoping you'll like one of them. We spent all of our time, energy, and resources obsessing over a single recipe until it was flawless." They added that in the foreseeable future, Sollos will only have this one offering.

Business registration filings reveal that Sollos Yerba Mate was incorporated in Delaware in December and registered in Florida in January. According to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission documents reviewed by Newsweek, the company reported $1 million in capital raised through a private placement.

Barron Trump, a 19-year-old sophomore at New York University, is listed as one of the directors alongside partners Spencer Bernstein, Rodolfo Castello, Stephen Hall, and Valentino Gomez. The company's registered address in Palm Beach is near the Trump family's Mar-a-Lago estate. Public records show this address belongs to longtime Trump associate Jay Weitzman, who has contributed to Donald Trump's political campaigns and whose parking business has received federal contracts.

Weitzman clarified to Newsweek that he has no involvement or investment in the beverage company, explaining that the business was registered at his address because his grandson, Spencer Bernstein, one of the directors, is living with him. There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing on Weitzman's part.

Barron Trump's Business Ventures

This beverage venture marks Barron Trump's first significant step into the consumer business sector. He has previously explored other entrepreneurial activities, including briefly incorporating a real estate business in July 2024, which was dissolved just a few months later in November after his father won the presidential election. Barron Trump is also listed as a co-founder of the cryptocurrency venture World Liberty Financial.

Barron Trump's entry into the beverage market occurs as the Trump family's business dealings continue to draw public scrutiny. When his father began his second term in January 2025, the Trump Organization announced that Donald Trump would step back from running his real estate company to avoid conflicts of interest. To ensure ethical compliance, the company brought in William Burck, a longtime Republican lawyer, as an outside ethics adviser to oversee operations and maintain separation between presidential duties and business activities.

The launch of Sollos Yerba Mate represents a new chapter for Barron Trump, blending entrepreneurial ambition with the symbolic branding of Florida's sunny lifestyle. As the May release approaches, the beverage industry will be watching closely to see how this high-profile venture performs in the competitive market.
