Arsenal are set to be active in the summer transfer window as Mikel Arteta looks to enhance his Premier League title-winning squad. The Gunners, currently champions, aim to secure priority signings despite having an impressive roster. They have been linked with Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers and Morocco prospect Ayyoub Bouaddi, while Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali remains a target.
Sandro Tonali Transfer Battle Update
Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race for Newcastle star Sandro Tonali. Arsenal were initially linked with a move for the Italy international at the end of the winter window. According to The Times, Spurs have held talks with Tonali's representatives regarding a potential switch to Roberto De Zerbi's outfit. Newcastle values the midfielder at up to £100 million. Tonali has been touted to several clubs, including Arsenal and Manchester United. Newcastle have already sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona this summer.
Arsenal Deal Tottenham Blow
Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur academy talent Elijah Upson. The defender is set to leave Spurs when his contract expires, potentially moving to their north London rivals. The Athletic claims that Arsenal are pursuing Upson as part of their strategy to secure elite youngsters, following their pursuit of Leicester City's Jeremy Monga. Upson made 23 appearances across all competitions last season, captaining Spurs' U18s on several occasions. The England U18 international is the son of former Arsenal centre-back Matthew Upson, who spent five-and-a-half years with the Gunners, making 57 appearances and winning the Premier League in 2002.
