The Washington Wizards have emerged victorious in the NBA Draft lottery, earning the right to make the first selection in next month's event at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.
Lottery Results
With the worst record in the NBA, the Wizards were among three teams entering the lottery with 14-percent odds of securing the top pick. The lottery saw several teams move up, including the Utah Jazz, who claimed the No. 2 pick, as well as the Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls, who will select third and fourth, respectively.
Top Prospects
Next month's draft features a number of elite recruits. Among the top prospects are BYU swingman AJ Dybantsa, Kansas combo guard Darryn Peterson, and Duke power forward Cameron Boozer, the son of retired NBA forward Carlos Boozer. Dybantsa is considered a strong candidate for the Wizards with the first pick.
More details to follow as the draft approaches.
