UK Plumbing Firm Fayers Collapses Into Administration

A UK plumbing company with a 140-year history has collapsed into administration. Fayers Plumbing and Building Supplies, which has been operating since 1884, entered administration on June 8, 2026, according to a notice in The Gazette. Sarah Cook and Andy John of FRP Advisory Trading Limited have been appointed as administrators.

Family Business Under Pressure

The family-run company offers plumbing, heating, sanitaryware, and building products. It currently operates four trade counters in Enfield, Barnet, Buckhurst Hill, and King's Cross. The exact reason for the collapse has not been confirmed, but it comes amid immense financial pressure faced by businesses across the nation.

Financial Performance

According to its most recent accounts filed at Companies House, the company saw a year-on-year increase in total sales in 2024. However, its gross profit margin fell, indicating tougher trading conditions and increased competition. The trade counters experienced an 11.4% decline in sales and a 21.9% reduction in gross profit, while showroom sales increased by 2.2%.

Showrooms and Online Operations

The company's showrooms are located at its Just Add Water (JAW) stores in New Barnet and Buckhurst Hill. Just Add Water has been part of the Fayers Group since 1991, focusing on design-led bathrooms. The company's website remains operational, allowing customers to open trade accounts or request quotes.

Customer Ratings

The independent company holds four-star ratings across all its trade counters except the Enfield location. Customers have praised the company for its excellent service and high-quality products.
