UK Pizza Dough Supplier Collapses After 34 Years

A British pizza dough supplier has plunged into administration, leaving creditors owed over £1 million. Millennium Dough Company has ceased operations after 34 years in business, producing wholesale artisan frozen pizza dough from its West London hub.

Company Background

The company, based on Taunton Road in Greenford, was renowned for using high-quality ingredients and traditional baking methods. Best Food Importers commented: "Their expertise lies in long fermentation, craft flavours, and new product development, catering to the unique needs of restaurants and food service companies."

Administration Details

Administrators Nicholas Charles Simmonds and Chris Newell of Quantuma Advisory Limited were appointed on June 8, according to The Gazette. They have taken control of the company to explore rescue options or achieve a better return for creditors than immediate liquidation.

Financial Situation

Millennium Dough Company must now pay creditors £1.5 million for the financial year ending October 2024, doubling from £751,052 in 2023, as per Companies House documents. This is despite turning over £1.7 million in profits. The company may continue trading while the administrator assesses the financial position, or it may halt operations if continuing would cost creditors more money.

Customer Impact

The company, previously operating under the name Millennium Food Service, leaves behind a disappointed customer base. It had garnered numerous five-star reviews on Google, with many praising its "excellent fantastic staff."
