Retailer confidence

Ben Cox, director at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, asset managers of Metrocentre, said: “Securing Timberland’s inaugural store in the North East region is the latest in a series of important firsts, further underlining retailer confidence in the visibility, reach and volume of Metrocentre and the strength of our fashion offer. It’s also another huge win for our customers, with wellness trends and hybrid lifestyles increasingly blurring the line between high-performance outerwear, activewear and everyday fashion – a category in which Timberland really excels.”

Expansion at Metrocentre

Timberland’s arrival brings the total number of new brands to invest in Metrocentre to 22 in the last year alone, accounting for over 100,000 sqft of space. This includes new stores such as Urban Outfitters, Stradivarius, Hollister and KENJI, as well as refurbished or relocated stores like Levis and New Look.

Timberland was founded in 1973 and is based in Stratham, New Hampshire, USA, with international offices in Stabio, Switzerland and Shanghai, China. It sells to customers in more than 100 countries.
