Royal Mint Launches Rainbow Prism Coins for Pink Floyd

The Royal Mint has introduced a new collection of commemorative coins celebrating the legendary rock band Pink Floyd. The coin's reverse side showcases the iconic prism from The Dark Side Of The Moon, a symbol of the band's artistic vision and experimentation. Some editions of the coin will also feature a vibrant rainbow prism effect, adding a striking visual element.

Pink Floyd Joins Music Legends Series

Pink Floyd now joins other iconic musicians such as David Bowie, George Michael, Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Paul McCartney, and Freddie Mercury in the Royal Mint's 'music legends' series. This series has already delivered nearly half a million coins to collectors and fans across 108 countries worldwide.

Design and Craftsmanship

Rebecca Morgan, director of commemorative coin at The Royal Mint, expressed her enthusiasm: "Pink Floyd are one of those truly rare bands whose music and imagery have transcended generations, and the moment you see this coin, you know exactly who it celebrates. The iconic prism is instantly recognisable to fans around the world, and Henry Gray has done a remarkable job of bringing it to life with the craft and detail this band deserves. Their influence on music, art and culture is immeasurable, and we're incredibly proud that The Royal Mint can play its part in preserving that legacy forever."
