Raising Cane's, the iconic US fast food chain from Louisiana, is set to open its first UK restaurant in London's Piccadilly Circus in late 2026, marking its long-awaited arrival after three decades of anticipation.
Flagship Location in Central London
The new outlet will be located at 21–22 Coventry Street, in the Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square area, taking over the former Angus Steakhouse premises. Branded hoardings are already in place, signaling that construction is well underway.
This flagship venue is just the beginning of a broader European expansion. The company has announced plans to open several additional sites soon after, including other London locations such as Oxford Circus, The Strand, Paddington, and South Bank. Raising Cane's is also actively scouting for drive-thru locations throughout Greater London and surrounding areas.
Streamlined Menu Focus
Unlike other fast-food outlets with extensive menus, Raising Cane's concentrates exclusively on a premium, streamlined offering. Their signature meal is the "Craveable Chicken Finger Meals," featuring:
- Chicken Fingers: Top-quality chicken tenders marinated for over 24 hours and hand-breaded.
- Cane's Sauce: A famous, house-made secret sauce that has become a TikTok sensation.
- Texas Toast: Thick, buttery garlic bread griddled fresh to order.
- Sides: Crispy crinkle-cut fries and fresh coleslaw.
Fan Excitement and Market Competition
The announcement has sparked excitement online, with popular foodie account New Foods UK, which has 370,000 followers, sharing the news. The post garnered thousands of likes, with followers expressing their enthusiasm. One person exclaimed, "Oh my God," while another said, "Don't need to trek to New York now."
Raising Cane's is entering a fiercely competitive UK market, joining a wave of American fried chicken brands expanding across the pond, including Popeyes, Chick-fil-A, and Dave's Hot Chicken. The chain will also go head-to-head with KFC, the UK's most well-known chicken fast food outlet.
