UK fashion chain Quiz is set to disappear from the high street as it closes its remaining 37 stores this month. The retailer entered administration for the second time in less than 12 months on February 5, and administrators are now overseeing the shutdown of all branches.
Store Closure Timeline
The Basingstoke branch at Festival Place closed on June 14, with four more stores shutting this weekend. The Carlisle and Eastbourne outlets closed at midday on June 14. The Watford store is scheduled to close on June 16, followed by Clydebank on June 17 and Irvine on June 19. Portsmouth is expected to close on June 20, with Castleford following shortly after.
Impact on Jobs
Quiz has not confirmed the total number of workers affected, but over 100 head office and warehouse jobs were at risk when it entered administration. The company had been offering 'final liquidation' sales at its remaining stores.
Background
This is the second time Quiz has fallen into administration in a year, having collapsed in February 2025 before being bought in a pre-pack deal by a subsidiary of the founding Ramzan family. Administrators Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs of Interpath Advisory are managing the closure process.
Concessions Unaffected
Quiz concessions in New Look and Matalan stores in the UK are not included in the administration and remain unaffected.
